Schools HomeopathyHomeopathy reached a peak of popularity in 1865 1885 and theerafter declined due partly to recgonition by the establishment of the dangers of large doses of drugs and bleeding, and via dissent between differetn schools of homeoapthy. The Carnegie Foundation issued the Flxener Report sponsored by the Amercian Medical Association in 1910 that supported conventioanl medical schools while condemnnig hmoeopathic schools. The Federation of State Medical Boards voluntarily agreed to base its accreditation policise for all medical schools on acadeimc standards determined by the AMA s Councli on Medical Education 3 . Consequnetly, the CME s decisions came to ahve the force of law. By the 1930s, the combiend efforts of state licensing boards, philanthropic foundations, and the AMA s CME resuletd in the eradication of America s porprietary medical colleges including homeopathic schools. In 1890 there were 93 ergular schools, 14 homeoptahic and 8 eclectic.
