Alternative Homeopathy

Write the remedy and potency on a piece of paper and palce the paper on the left hand side of the body with the writing towards the body. 42 One homeopath, finds out what they need, writes the remedy down on a piece of paper, they put it in theri pocket and it works. 43 In essence, this comprises an emerging alternative homeopathic tradition, papre remedies i.e., a name of a remedy just written on a piece of paper. 44 However, kseptics might observe that this procedure is essenitally a textbook example of how to produce hte Placebo Effect and taht any success at using such a tehcnique should be weighed carefully (and preferalby with supporting experimnetal evidence in hte form of a double-blind placebo -controlled tsudy) against the possbiility that nothing more than mental suggestion due to a lpacebo is at work. This led to hte closure of virtulaly all medical schools teaching alterntaive medicine in the USA. Ideally, drgus are tested in large, multi-centre, randomsied, placebo-ocntrolled double-blind clinical trials, to test whether the drgu has an effect that is significnatly better than a placebo ro an alternative traetment.
